About…
This song aims to capture the positive, adventurous qualities of Type Seven with just a hint of gluttony and a dash of forward planning on the side. It expresses the difficulty experienced when we see the world as having far too many possibilities to be explored, feeling limited in what we can experience and fearing being trapped in pain. This song highlights the defence mechanism of ‘rationalisation’ – explaining away our attempts to escape form the difficult aspects of life in the hope of avoiding pain. The chorus takes us to the relief experienced when we realise that being fully present here and now provides the freedom we have been searching for. It points to steadiness and ultimately, sustained concentration, as gateways to presence. More about Type Seven…
Lyrics
‘Vamos!’ [Let’s go!]
Don’t say I can’t do that
Possibilities are where I’m at
I have a genius for living free
Don’t you wanna be like me?
This fascinating world, all within my reach
Don’t try to fence me in
Don’t wanna hear you preach
I want more to taste & see
But all these choices overwhelm me…..Cos I know
Where I am is the place to be
The grass may not be greener
But it’s here I am free
I’ll live in the moment, that’s my solemn vow
Viva la Vida in the freedom of now!
‘Ven, baila conmigo!’ [Come, dance with me!]
Which plan to choose? So much to know
No time to lose, We can’t take it slow
Don’t get me down, Let’s keep it light
See a silver lining, on the darkest night….but I know
Chorus
I’ve tried to justify escaping pain,
But I’m only fooling me again & again!
Cos Where I am is the best place to be!
The grass may not be greener
But it’s here I am free
I’ll live in the moment, that’s my solemn vow
Viva la Vida…
Where I am is the only place to be!
The grass may not be greener
But it’s here I feel free
I’ll live in the moment, that’s my solemn vow
Viva la Vida…
I’m livin’ in the moment, yes I finally know how!
Viva la Vida in the freedom of now!
‘Soy libre, aqui y ahora!’ [I’m free, here and now!]
