Before the Dawn is Bernadette’s first song release since her debut album, Nine of Us, in 2019. This song was born out of the deepest and most excruciating internal journey Bernadette has embarked upon so far in this lifetime. Many mystics and spiritual teachers of all traditions speak of the ‘dark night of the soul’, an experience that many of us go through to varying degrees over the course of our lives. These experiences shake us to our core. They uncover buried belief systems, traumas and old programming that no longer serve us. Ultimately these experiences are the greatest gift we can receive, although they never feel that way as they are doing their job, clearing out our hearts and minds. However, if we choose to honour these experiences as they arrive, we have a chance to be transformed and to clear all that has blocked us from living to our highest potential.

As Bernadette journeyed deep into her heart centre, releasing all that no longer serves, the world has been doing the same on a grand scale like we’ve never seen before. All that has been hidden and swept under the rug is being brought out into broad daylight to be healed and changed for the highest good of all of humanity. We are seeing great changes for women, oppressed people, minority groups, personal relationships, and the planet herself. Outdated systems are crumbling and new ones are taking their place. The voiceless are being heard. However, this kind of radical shift is never smooth and so we are seeing a shake-up of mammoth proportions.

Before the Dawn is a song of deep knowing that the night is always darkest just before the dawn. It reminds us that what may seem hopeless, both in our personal lives and on a worldwide scale, is actually in major transition. There is great healing occurring and soon the sun will rise.
